From Dreams to Reality
Lately I’ve been imagining how fun it would be to visit Giethoorn, a town in the Netherlands where there are no cars, and people get around on bikes and small boats. There are about 180 bridges which connect homes on private islands. So picturesque.
It’s all part of my bigger dream to visit my son Ben in Stuttgart, Germany, where he is on an 8 month co-op work term, as part of his university program. I would love to see where he lives and works, and travel with him to visit my relatives in The Netherlands.
We’d meet up in cozy homes and cafes for great conversations, walk lots and ride bikes through towns and fields of tulips, soak up the culture and eat delicious Dutch croquettes and French fries with mayonnaise.
Sooo yummy!
Just thinking about it gives me thrill bumps.
So here’s my inspiration.
The Key to Creating Our Dreams
I know the key to creating what I want is vividly imagining it and feeling it, as if it is happening now. And then letting it happen.
Taking inspired action only when it feels better.
Just like the way I imagine what I’ll have for breakfast. Shall I have a healthy shake (with blueberries or a banana) or yogurt (plus peanut butter, cocoa, and banana) or porridge/cereal or eggs (boiled, scrambled) or something else? What would taste better right now?
When it comes to bigger dreams though, sometimes I stop myself before my dreams are realized.
Does that sound familiar to you?
We may be so focused on the details of our lives and making ends meet, we stop dreaming big.
Or we may dismiss our dreams by thinking they will never happen.
Or we push against our dreams by struggling and focusing on what’s not working.
This need not be.
When I want to be more deliberate in allowing my big dreams, I like to play a fun game where I deliberately and consistently power up my imagination, by spending $1,000,000+ (virtually) for 21 days or more. And at the same time, I’m keeping my mood up, knowing that how I feel is my point of attraction.
* * * It works for attracting cash, free vacations, and creating big dreams.
That’s how I got to visit Ben 18 months ago when he had his last 8 month co-op term in Hanover, Germany.
Maybe it’s time for another round of this prosperity game.
Would you like to play this game with me?
